Jane McGraw-Teubner recently became a Master Pastelist in the Pastel Society of America. She is on the Board of Directors of the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, NYC and a Resident Artist in the Salmagundi Art Club. She is a founding member of the Long Island Plein Air Painters’ Society.
Jane studied with well known pastel artists Jeff Webb, Frank Federico, Albert Handel, Larry Blovits, Richard McKinley and at the Art Students League with Richard Pionk and local pastel artists at the Art League of Long Island.
Jane has won numerous awards at local and national juried shows. In September, 2009, she won her third award at the Pastel Society of America’s Annual National Show and received the status of Master Pastelist. She was accepted into the 8th, 10th, 11th and 12th Annual Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Juried National Shows where she received the highest award – the 2007 Gold Medal of Honor for Pastels/Drawing. Other recent awards: at the Salmagundi Art Club Combined Show 2007, the Mortimer Freehof Award for Pastel, the Bruce Crane Award at the Salmagundi Art Club Spring Auction 2008, Art Spirit Silver Medal Award at the Salmagundi Art Club Annual Members Show, NYC, and at the Pastel Society of America’s National Juried Show in 2005 - the Salmagundi Award for her pastel "Pebbles and Beach Grass". All shows were held in New York City. Jane was included in the Annual Winners Circle Show at Gallery North, Setauket, NY, 2005, 2006 and 2008, and received the Overall Excellence Award at the Art League of Long Island’s Annual Outdoor Show in 2004, 2006 and 2007.
